The wines of the Tortona hills

Four generations of winegrowers
in Casasco

It is an ancient and indissoluble bond between the Mandirola family, Casasco and the Timorasso hills. A story that is rooted in a strong attachment to the region and is nurtured every day by renewed passion.

Vineyards

Situated at an altitude between 300 and 350 m a.s.l., our vineyards, facing south-east and south-west, offer ideal conditions for growing vines

Soil

The limestone-clay soil of the Tortona hills provides a mineral-rich environment, essential for the production of high-quality wines

Climate

The temperate climate, with warm summers and mild winters, favours optimal ripening of the grapes, enhancing the flavours and aromas of our wines

Integrated pest management

We use integrated defence practices to protect our vines, reducing the use of pesticides and promoting biodiversity

Manual harvesting

The grapes are harvested by hand, ensuring the selection of the best bunches and preserving the quality of the wine

SQNPI Certification

We are proud to have the SQNPI certification, which witnesses our commitment to sustainable and environmentally friendly production

Timorasso and more

Every sip of wine is a journey through its terroir, nestled in a glass

Do you know Timorasso? It is a Piedmontese white wine of extraordinary elegance and ageing capacity. A real treasure for wine connoisseurs

Timorasso is an indigenous Piedmontese white grape variety, originating in the Colli Tortonesi. It is mainly cultivated in the Curone, Grue and Ossona Valleys and in Val Borbera, sunny and wind-sheltered areas that are much appreciated by producers. Some time ago, its cultivation extended over a larger area, but today it is limited to the provinces of Asti and Alessandria, covering a total of less than 60 hectares.

This grape variety is valued for its resistance to weather and disease, although its production can be irregular and vinification complex. However, the bottles produced are of the highest quality and few – no more than 400,000 per year – making this excellent wine a treasure reserved for true connoisseurs.
